A successful weekend for Slovenian judokas in Gori ended with two medals. Jevgenija Gajić, who less than a month ago competed at the Senior European Championships in the under-57 kg category, made a successful debut in the under-70 kg category and reached the top of the podium. On her way to her first gold medal at a senior European Cup, the 20-year-old Slovenian judoka defeated two Georgian opponents, a Russian, and, in the final, a Greek opponent.

Her success was complemented by her club teammate Tina Kovač, who reached the final in the under 57 kg category with two victories against home representatives and a win over a judoka from Israel. However, as she was injured in the semi-final, she was unable to compete in the final against the Swiss representative and therefore finished the competition in second place.

Ožbi Pandev also competed in Gori. He won his first-round bout against a home judoka, but in the second round he was stopped by the eventual category winner from Switzerland. In the repechage, he then had to concede defeat to a Russian representative.
